one week birthday

Bentley is one week old today!
He has brought so much joy into our lives it's hard to explain the love I have for him.
Ryan and I feel very blessed to have such a precious, healthy little boy.

We came home on Monday from the hospital and it was fun introducing him to Love and his new home. Ryan got it all on video. So far Bentley's been such a great baby and it seems like he loves his nursery. He adapted to his crib very well. I love being a mom! The hardest part is the late night feedings but everyone keeps telling me it gets easier. My mom has been staying with us this week and I don't know what I would have done without her. I had a break-down today with the thought of her leaving us.

Bentley had his first doctor's appointment with Dr. Neely on Wednesday. He gave us a great report and gave me alot of confidence with breastfeeding. Bentley is gaining weight and nursing is becoming easier everyday.

We are enjoying our bundle of joy.

lil' prince

Had to share this precious picture of my little prince.
We are all doing well and I'm slowly recovering.
Every morning feels like Christmas. We are enjoying every minute with him.
It's so much fun being a mommy. I would recommend it to everyone! :)

Thank you for all the sweet phone calls, emails and visits.
Ryan and I appreciate all the support.

I'll post some more pictures once I get some more time.
I've got to go pull out the boob and feed the little man :)

Love to all!

Introducing Bentley Michael Long

Bentley Michael Long was born on February 11, 2010 at 2:25pm.
He weighed 8lbs and 19 1/2 inches long. He has dark blue eyes and peach fuzz blonde hair.

Mommy and baby are doing great and recovering well.
Ryan and I are proud parents and the happiest we have ever been.
The birth of our son and becoming parents has been the most amazing experience.
I love being a mommy and still is aww of God's goodness.

Thank you to everyone for all the love and support you have given us these past 9 months.
Ryan and I can't thank you enough. Hugs and Kisses to everyone!!!!

February 11th is the day!

Mr. B will be arriving tomorrow, February 11th!

We found out today at our doctor's appointment that I have preclampsia.
Which means there is protein in my urine. This is also associated with the high blood pressure I've been having. Because it can be harmful to me and the baby my doctor wants the baby out tomorrow. He gave me a choice between inducing me tonight or having a c-section tomorrow. After discussing the pros and cons with Ryan I chose the c-section. We did a sonogram today and Bentley is weighing 9 lbs. And since I'm not dilated or the lining of my uterus hasn't thinned the odds of ending up having a c-section was high. So I chose not to go through 24 hours of labor and just schedule it. Bentley must be super comfy in there!

I'm in shock still but we are thrilled to be meeting our new little son tomorrow!
I know the Lord's hand is all over this and this is his plan.
Please keep us all in your prayers tomorrow as we await the arrival of Bentley Michael.

Can't believe there will be snow on his birthday!

Love to you all....check back for pictures later in the week.

Update + Nursery Pics

Found out this morning that I'll be starting my maternity leave early.
Doctor put me on bed rest as of 1pm today due to high blood pressure.
Fortunately, it is not preclampsia but gestational hypertension which is basically just high blood pressure. Apparently it's normal to get the last 2-3 weeks of your pregnancy.
It sucks because I had perfect weight gain and blood pressure my whole pregnancy until now.
I was so proud of myself. I guess I was trying to do too much.
But now I'm restricted to the couch, bed or toilet.
I didn't have everything wrapped up at work but I guess they will figure it out.
The good news was that my doctor could feel Bentley's head during the vaginal exam...yay!
I go back on Wednesday for another check-up and will keep you posted.
Below are some pictures of his adorable nursery.
I'm just glad everything is done and bags are packed.
Please continue to keep baby and I in your prayers.
Love you all! :)

37 Week Update...

I had a sonogram today at my weekly checkup.
We found out that Bentley is weighing 8 lbs 2 ozs.
His head is measuring very large in the 95th percentile.
So...as you can see I'm going to be delivering a big boy.
Looks like he has a little mix between Ryan and I because I was 8 lbs 12 oz and Ryan was born with a very large head. :)

Anyways, there is still no progress from last week.
My doctor informed us that at this rate he will not let me go to my due date (Feb 25th).
So next Monday (Feb 8th) we are going to check the progress again and talk about options.
It looks like Bentley will be joining us sooner than we thought.
My doctor advised me to wrap things up at work and go home and rest.
So this week it looks like I will be doing that.

I have a prayer request. Ryan and I have been interviewing pediatricians the last couple of weeks and I still haven't found one that I'm thrilled about. We are interviewing a few more this week so please pray I find one I feel comfortable with. This is actually harder than I thought.

Please keep me in your prayers this week that I don't stress and can wrap up everything at work and home and we will be able to find the perfect pediatrician for Bentley.

Thank you and love you all!
