Do you have ham leftovers from Thanksgiving?
Make a yummy soup.
I promise... it is FANTASTIC!
Ingredients:
3 potatoes peeled and quartered
1 cup of diced celery
1/2 onion chopped
cooked ham diced (however much you want)
3 cups of water
1 cup of chicken stock
salt and pepper to taste
5 tablespoons of butter
5 tablespoons of flour
2 cups of milk
Directions:
1. Combine the potatoes, celery, onion, ham, and water in a stockpot. Bring to boil, then cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Stir in the chicken stock and salt and pepper.
2. In a smaller saucepan, melt butter over medium low heat. Whisk flour, stirring until thick, about 1 minute. Slowly stir in the milk. Don't allow lumps to form. Stir until thick on low, about 5 minutes.
3. Stir the milk mixture into the stockpot. Cook soup until heated through.
Enjoy!
